After one year as a rookie in the NBA, the 27-year-old Spurs center Boban Marjanovic has decided to take his 7’3 talents to the Detroit Pistons. The restricted free agent, Marjanovic signed a 3-year offer sheet worth $21 million. According to Marc Stein of ESPN:

The Spurs automatically replaced Boban with another Center, Dewayne Dedmon. Dedmon has been in the league for 3 years bouncing in and out of the D-league, but making strides along the way. The 7’0 Center averaged 4.4 points, 3.9 rebounds in just 12 minutes a game last year with the Orlando Magic, and received tons of interest from teams like the Raptors and Rockets in the offseason. Per The Vertical’s Sham Charania:
Free agent center Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell The Vertical.

It will be interesting to see how both teams back-up centers do throughout the season, but I would be interested to see how Stan Van Gundy will use Boban together along with Drummond.
