In the world of blockbuster feature films, no one has had more eyes on their every move than Marvel. The Disney owned cinematic universe kicked off the week with the release of the first trailer for Captain Marvel. Led Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson, the feature film is set to be released in theaters in March of 2019. Not long afterwards, reports surfaced that Marvel’s biggest competitor, DC Comics, was already looking into a sequel to its upcoming film, Aquaman. Most recently, Marvel’s most significant film this year, Black Panther, earned a few Grammy nominations for its soundtrack led by Kendrick Lamar. Keeping their name in the headlines, Marvel has unveiled the latest trailer for its fourth Avengers film.
Released this morning, Marvel’s latest trailer picks up with Tony Stark floating through space while talking about what appears to be his impending death. From there, the film seems to set the stage for what Thanos has done to the Earth since Infinity War ended. All in all, the trailer sets the stage for what will be an epic showdown between the Avengers and Thanos. Set to be released in April, anticipation couldn’t be higher for the Hollywood blockbuster.
Given the attention surrounding the trailer, Marvel has also announced the title of the fourth Avengers film. The 2019 release will be titled, Avengers: Endgame. Based on the short discussion between Tony Stark and Dr. Evil in the last film, the title refers to the long term plan that the Avengers must abide by in order to restore order to the universe. Get ready for 2019 because it will be full of big Marvel films.
