Abraham Nova will challenge O’Shaquie Foster for the WBC Super Featherweight Championship on February 16, 2023 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
The challenger, Abraham Nova, enters his first world title bout with a record of 22-1 with 15 knockouts. His lone loss occurred in 2022 at the hands of WBO Featherweight Champion Robeisy Ramirez. Most recently, he beat Adam Lopez by unanimous decision on January 14, 2023 in Verona, New York.
“My team and I have earned this opportunity to bring a world title back home,” Nova said about his upcoming bout with Foster.
“You know what I bring, and you know what I’m about. No fear, no doubt.”
The champion, O’Shaquie Foster, won the WBC Super Featherweight Championship by defeating Rey Vargas in February. Eight months later, he went to war with Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez and emerged with an 11th-round stoppage victory.
“It’s always been my dream to fight at Madison Square Garden, and what better promoter to make this all happen than Top Rank? As a kid, watching all the greats fight at MSG inspired me to want to be a part of the history that comes with fighting at such a legendary place,” Foster said.
“I’m ready to put on a show and keep proving that I’m the best fighter in the world.”
