Over the last decade and change, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has transitioned out of the ring and into the boardroom. While his in-ring expertise has been limited to exhibition bouts lately, his presence is still felt throughout the sport as Mayweather Promotions continues to grow. Currently, his promotional imprint has ties to rising stars like Rolando “Rolly” Romero, Jail Hackett and Malik Warren. Not to be forgotten, Mayweather Promotions still has ties to Gervonta “Tank” Davis. To top it all off, Mayweather Promotions has a hand in the development of the most talked about fighter in amateur boxing, Curmel Moton. Now, Mayweather Promotions is looking to add the only heavyweight to its roster, Francis Ngannou.
“I would love to work with him, actually,” he told Betline when asked if he’d be interested in signing the former UFC champion to Mayweather Promotions.
“I would love to work with him; I would love to sign him to Mayweather Promotions. ”
Francis Ngannou left the UFC in late 2022 and has been publicly advocating for an opportunity to fight boxing’s biggest names. Andy Ruiz, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are among the names that have been mentioned as possibilities for the former heavyweight champion. Nearly six months removed from leaving the UFC, he is still on the hunt for a dance partner in the ring.
“Very skilled guy, he was unbelievable from the highlights that I was able to see in MMA. I would like to work with him someday,” he said about Ngannou.
“If he wants to fight one of the top heavyweight guys, he should do it.”
