Everyone wants to be the first of their friends to catch the next big Netflix series first or put their friends on to the next big singer or rapper. If you want to do the later, you should let them know about Thutmose. Named after Egyptian pharaohs, Thutmose, has been on a steady rise over the past few months with the release of singles like “Kanye’s Favorite Song“, “WuWu” and “Blame“, Thutmose has garnered over one million plays on Soundcloud with just nine tracks over two years.
The Nigerian born singer-rapper moved to Brooklyn when he was just nine years old. He first started garnering widespread attention with his freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble”. Since then, he’s developed into a unique artist with a bright, imaginative sound that feels reminiscent of Alan Kingdom, Tunji Ige and SAINt JHN mixed with Travis Scott. With that being said, he’s very much found his own lane with his most recent single, “Ride With Me”. On the underground banger, Thutmose lets fans know what it is when he says, “You know I gotta give ’em what they ask for/Like 2Pac spitting at the tabloids/I’m Will Smith hanging with the bad boys/Get the bag, mask on then we blast off/Where I’m from, they never had much.”
With an addictive sound, great music and an affiliation with CAA, the Thutmose empire is sure to rise in the near future. You can get familiar with his catalog by checking out his Soundcloud or watching his newest video above.
