We can add another tally mark into the win column for Fetty Wap. Less than a year since ‘Trap Queen’ was officially released, Fetty Wap quickly racked up a more than impressive list of accomplishments for a freshman in the music business. With his presence felt heavy not only via social media, but also on radio airwaves, Fetty’s debut album became on of the most anticipated releases beyond the realm of Hip-Hop. Releasing September 25th, it’s only right that Fetty landed atop of the Billboard 200 this week with his self-titled debut.
With streams and physical sales included, according to Billboard, Fetty Wap sold an equivalent of 129,000 copies of the album in his first week. It is also being reported that ‘RGF Island’ rapper/singer is the first Hip-Hop artist to have their debut album shoot to No. 1 in over 2 years, with A$AP Rocky being the previous holder of the honor. More than deserved, Fetty proved himself to be one of the most consistent artists of 2015. As this is only the beginning, expect to see much more of the rapper in the coming months.
