2020 is going to be memorable for a lot of reasons but perhaps one that will stick with us the most is that it’s the year the Covid-19 pandemic started. One of the things we should never leave the house without up until now is a facemask. In the last couple of months, manufacturers have created all sorts of innovations to make the humble face mask much better.
Head back to 2019 and even the early months of 2020 and you’ll only find N95s, surgical masks, and cloth masks for sale. Now, some innovations have taken things a step further. If you haven’t heard about these, then here are a few face masks innovations that may be interesting for you.
Masks With Earphones
Who doesn’t love to travel with music on? The problem is that if you had earphones on while wearing facemasks, it can hurt your ear as the traps pull down on the piece. To make things more convenient, some manufacturers have created masks with built-in earphones which is a very convenient innovation.
This makes traveling with music in the time of a pandemic much easier. A bluetooth face mask also helps with the problems you may have with wired earphones and headsets. Of course, it’s a big bonus that these masks are also as stylish as they come. It’s also the perfect mask to buy if you are out jogging.
Advanced “Gamer” Masks
Gaming and technology brand Razer surprised the world last year when it revealed Project Hazel. It’s a concept face mask that the company is currently working on and true to their company’s practices, the mask caters to those who are into gaming. What makes this mask special?
To begin with, the Hazel is a mask that has passed the N95 respirator standard which is the recommended mask for how Covid-19 is transmitted. The masks come with other features such as detachable ventilator filters and a charging case for auto-sterilization function.
Masks With Attachments
The most common trend you’ll see with face masks nowadays is that most of them have attachments. Millennials are creating their own versions with detachable features such as interchangeable filters, removable face shields, and so much more, Customization is their aim but of course, these masks are still up to standard.
The idea behind these masks is that they want to make it more eco-friendly by making it reusable. N95s and surgical masks are mostly single-use masks which not only result in more trash in the environment, it also costs more for wearers. On the other hand, cloth masks don’t give the adequate protection you need from the virus.
Detachable components mean that you can easily swap out parts of the mask to have them cleaned or replaced entirely. It benefits the environment and your wallet at the same time.
These face masks innovations are far from done. Even if vaccines are now rolling out, these masks are still going to wow people who want to prepare for when the next pandemic strikes.
