On Saturday, July 29, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford will meet at the center of the ring in T-Mobile Arena and fight to become the first undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era. As expected, both men enter the bout believing they will be the one to have their hand raised at the end of the night. Also, both men believe they are the one drawing fans to the venue and driving pay-per-view sales. As a result, Crawford and Spence Jr. will flip a coin to determine who will walk to the ring first.
“Even though I’m the ‘A’ side, we gotta flip a coin,” Spence Jr. said, according to Mike Coppinger of ESPN.
Spence Jr. nor Crawford have told reporters when the coin flip will take place, but it will likely take place during the week of the fight. Regardless of who enters the ring first, anticipation will be at an all-time high. Legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas believes Crawford will win, Gervonta “Tank” Davis believes Spence Jr. will win and most sportsbooks have the fight set at nearly even odds. Fortunately, fans will be able to put all of the debate to rest on Saturday, July 29.
