Moments after being shot, former President Donald Trump added another public figure’s name to his list of celebrity backers heading into general election — Elon Musk. On Saturday, July 13, Musk shared a video of the candidate bleeding moments after a fatal shooting took place at his latest rally in Butler, Pennsylvania and offered a short message.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
With his latest post, he joins the likes of Amber Rose, Dana White and even Waka Flocka, who have all expressed support for the former President. However, Musk’s endorsement arrives during a moment of chaos for the former President and his presidential campaign. Trump says he feels “fine” physically after at least one of his supporters was killed and another was wounded at his latest campaign event. The Secret Service, FBI and Pennsylvania State Police say the shooter has been killed, but decline to offer his name at the moment. Instead, authorities have described him as a 20-year-old man.
“Law enforcement officials say assailant who opened fire at Trump rally was a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania,” a report from the Associated Press reads.
“State Police have identified the person killed and people injured but are not prepared to release names, State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said. Other than Trump, two people were critically injured and one was killed. All were adult males.”
Trump has reportedly made his way from Pennsylvania back to New Jersey as he prepares for the Republican National Convention next week.
