Three months after the United States of America inaugurated its current President, Soundcloud has found its next commander-in-chief. Eliah Seton has been appointed as the next president of the streaming platform. In this role, Seton will oversee business strategy, put together content partnerships and form business mergers.
“I am so excited to partner with Mike and the team in helping to lead the future of this iconic business. SoundCloud has always been on the cutting edge of innovation and is simply the gold standard for independence in music. The possibilities for SoundCloud and for artists, labels and entrepreneurs everywhere are endless, and I am proud to join this extraordinary team and community,” Seton said, according to Variety.
Seton joins Soundcloud after spending more than a decade at Warner Music Group. While there, he worked to establish the office of the CEO and later stepped into the role of President of Alternative Distribution Alliance. He last worked as the head of Warner Music’s ADA.
Seton will join Soundcloud’s newly appointed chief financial officer Drew Wilson. Wilson stepped into her new role on April 1. He is set to step into his role on May 1.
