The same night Charlotte Hornets star Dwight Howard pieced together a historic 32 point, 30 rebound stat-line, the veteran center also cost his team a game of his services.
Howard recorded his sixteenth technical foul of the season the same night which will result in a one-game suspension for the big man.

Dwight Howard is the first to record 16 technical fouls this season though Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is right behind him with 15. This will be the first time Howard has reached the 16 technical foul threshold since he did it two consecutive years with the Orlando Magic in 2010 and 2011.
Tensions have been higher than ever between referees and NBA players this season and that can be seen with the number of technical fouls that have been handed out this season. Players seem to be objecting calls more than ever and along with the rules becoming more stringent, the uptick shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
As for himself, Dwight Howard has had one of his best seasons in years, averaging 16.6 points and his usual stellar work on the glass with 12.2 rebounds. The Hornets will be without Howard when they take on the Grizzlies at home on Thursday.
