When the Charlotte Hornets acquired former NBA All-Star Dwight Howard over the summer, they also acquired the antics that come along with Dwight. At times they are just fun and playful things with his teammates and others around the organization. On the other hand, there’s also the instances when he might not be as funny with some fans.
The NBA announced over the weekend that they are fining Dwight Howard $35,000 for making an obscene gesture towards Cleveland Cavaliers fans on Friday night during the Hornets 100-99 loss.
The incident occurred with 4:25 remaining in the second quarter and the game tied at 46 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Here’s the gesture in question.
Dwight Howard has opened up about coming back into his own following some tough seasons after his exit from the Orlando Magic. But despite his apparent return to a good mental state of mind, his exile from the Atlanta Hawks reportedly brought jubilation among his former teammates. He’s never been the most liked player in the NBA but he’s an almost surefire Hall of Fame talent but his silly actions sometimes take away from his accomplishments.
A 14-year veteran and eight-time All-Star, Howard is averaging 15.5 points and 12.9 rebounds in 18 games this season for Charlotte. Dwight has now amassed $972,469 in total fine money since 2010.
