The Champions Classic was fired up and saw four incredibly talented teams featured in it. The second game was not quite as competitive as the game between Kansas and Michigan State. The Duke Blue Devils dismantled the Kentucky Wildcats by a score of 118 to 84. Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish, and RJ Barrett were absolutely dominating with Coach Calipari having no answers with his Kentucky Wildcats. Williamson finished with 28 points and 7 rebounds. Barrett posted 33 points and six assists while Reddish chipped in 22 points and three steals.

The game was almost completely Duke’s with Kentucky barely able to keep pace with the Blue Devils at the very beginning. The Blue Devils had a dominating performance highlighted by electric Zion Williamson Dunks and beautiful basketball being played between him and RJ Barrett. The Blue Devils came out and punched the Wildcats in the mouth, but would not stop there. Duke led Kentucky 59-42 at the half in a game that was over by halftime. The Blue Devils looked poised to go well over 100 points and they would do just that in the second half. The dominating performance and score differential are almost never seen against top-five opponents.

The Wildcats just got outmatched by Duke and just could not contain the trio of Blue Devil forwards. Keldon Johnson posted 23 points while Reid Travis added 22 points and 7 rebounds for the Wildcats. The Duke Blue Devils have fully established themselves as the freshman class to beat in the NCAA. Duke also shattered a record in the Champions Classic for points scored by a team. The Duke trio showed little to no weakness against a top-five opponent. They jumped on the lead and then just never looked back. The 34 point loss is also the largest defeat Kentucky has suffered in the John Calipari era. Duke moves past this game feeling really good, and Kentucky leaves shaking their heads in confusion. The Duke Blue Devils have the rest of the NCAA eyeing them with trepidation, but the season has just begun.
