Less than a week ago, Drake and Future sent the internet ablaze with the simple confirmation and announcement of their collaborative project, What A Time To Be Alive. Premiering on Sunday, the hype went even further through the roof as the finished product landed in our hands. Met with mixed reception from their respective fan-bases, and everyone in between, nothing could stop two of Hip-Hop’s most popular rappers, at the moment, from flying straight to the top of iTunes hours after its release.
Even with a late start two days after this week’s releases, and only being made available via iTunes, Drake and Future are set for a No. 1 debut atop the Billboard Hot 100. Over the course of the past 5 days, it is being reported that What A Time To Be Alive has sold 339,538 copies in pure sales and 378,630 copies with streaming included. Individually, this makes their second album to reach No. 1 as both If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late & DS2 debuted a the peak of the chart earlier this year. Also making appearances in the top 5 is Mac Miller’s GO:OD AM with 90,152 SPS & Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon with 121,433 SPS. Starting off strong, we’ll see how these projects rank next week among new releases.
