As the days roll on, everything is slowly but surely coming together for the upcoming N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton. As if the anticipation for the film wasn’t already prevalent, it was announced over the weekend that Dr. Dre’s new album, Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre, was a reality and would be release this Friday, August 7th. Already available for pre-order, it looks like the album is set for a massive debut with preliminary numbers being over 300K. This would put Dr. Dre among 2015’s highest debut weeks on the Billboard Top 200. It’s also important to note the strength of word of mouth as those early numbers could easily fly north of 400K, if all goes well. It just goes to show just how much the public has been longing for new music from the west coast legend. Roll on August 7th! We’re all ready for Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre.
