Wilson will have another chance to be a starting running back in the league after he lost his role when the 49ers traded for Christian McCaffrey.
He started the season sharing the backfield with Elijah Mitchell but an injury in the first game of the season opened the opportunity for Wilson to take over. In the eight games, he has played this season, Wilson has 468 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
In addition, he will reunite with an old friend that knows his game well as Mike McDaniel, the current coach of the Miami Dolphins, who coached him in San Francisco when he was the Offensive Coordinator.
Wilson will have time to get used to the Dolphins’ playbook and practice with his teammates before his debut against Los Angeles Chargers on Week 10.
For the weekend, the team will rest as they have their bye week.
