DMX may be heading back to jail for violating conditions of his bail. He was released on $500,000 bond after being arrested for tax evasion last month. Federal prosecutors are arguing that X failed to pay $1.7 million in taxes from 2002 – 2005. They say he also failed to file tax returns from 2010 to 2015 despite making $2.3 million in that time period.
One of the conditions of DMX’s release was that he was supposed to get permission from his probation officer. According to X’s lawyer, the dog spent time in St. Louis without getting that permission.
Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff has ordered DMX to appear in court this Friday (Aug. 11) to determine if he violated. If it is found that he did violate, X could be back in a jail cell.
It’s hard to see a legend go out like this. I felt he was on his way to staying out of trouble with the birth of his most recent child. X even hooked back up with Swizz to drop ‘Bain iz Back’ earlier this year. Just the news of new music from the Dark Man gave me chills. Prayers up to X and hoping he can get his life in order.
