If you’re a Knicks fan you’ve got to be pulling your hair out by now going into a off-season with so much hope and Phil Jackson certainly has swung and missed multiple times.
This won’t make it better, but it’s something.
The New York Knicks and Derrick Williams have agreed to a two year $10 million deal, and a once promising young talent coming out of Arizona finds himself being tossed around the NBA a bit.
Derrick Williams’ issues have not been staying healthy it has been large part being on bad teams in Minnesota and Sacramento, but he has not turned heads in his playing time averaging nearly 22 minutes a game in his career.
We’ve seen flashes of what Williams could be, but nothing consistent at all.
For the Knicks it’s an interesting move so early in free agency and maybe Phil Jackson thinks he can rejuvenate the career of Derrick Williams?
The Knicks may be able to throw quite a few different lineups with Carmelo,Porzingis, and Williams involved. The team still has a long way to go after their pursuit to find another superstar to go alongside Carmelo Anthony.
We are in wait and see approach with the Knicks as they’ll scramble to try and sign a few bigger names, but they’ll still try to sign short term deals in hopes of landing Kevin Durant next off-season I’m sure.
Their may be some uncertainty in New York one thing I’m sure of Knicks fans won’t be pleased with this off-season when it’s all said and done.
