On Thursday, the New York Knicks got a big win over the Chicago Bulls on national television. They did so in front of Allen Iverson who was sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden.
After the game, Knicks’ point guard Derrick Rose spoke about meeting Iverson for the first time ever:

Obviously, Iverson is a huge NBA icon and a hero to many of the players in this generation. For a guard like Rose known for his explosion in getting to the rim (at least in his prime), the connection can be made even larger.
Iverson, who will be returning to the court in a 3-on-3 all retired players league, also met with Knicks’ big man and noted unicorn, Kristaps Porzingis to give him some words of wisdom:

Porzingis probably grew up watching Iverson play so one can only imagine what it means to him to meet the recently inducted hall of famer.
Allen Iverson has done a great job of being an ambassador for the league. He has also been a mentor (even if only for a few minutes) for the young players in the NBA. It’s great for everyone involved that he remains integrated into the sport.
