Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors will return from injury on Wednesday when the team hosts Oklahoma City, sources told Tim MacMahon of ESPN:
Jazz PF/C Derrick Favors will play limited minutes Wednesday after missing the previous 12 games due to a bone bruise in his left knee, league sources told ESPN.
The return of Favors, who suffered the knee injury back in November, will greatly benefit a depleted Jazz team in dire need of healthy players.
The Jazz, despite losing several players to injury throughout the past month, currently rank seventh in the Western Conference with a 15-10 record. Derrick Favors’ active teammates have done a spectacular job during his absence, and, when combined with a healthy Favors, this Jazz club should strike fear into opposing teams around the association.
Favors was originally expected to be sidelined for an estimated six weeks, but appears healthy enough to serve in a limited role for the time being.
Favors averaged a career-high 16.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and shot 52% from the field in 62 contests with the Jazz last season.
The 2010 No. 3 overall pick out of Georgia Tech, Favors is now in his seventh career season with the Jazz.
