Dennis Rodman Jabs At Former Teammate Steve Kerr’s Coaching In Golden State
Phil Jackson’s Knicks and head coach Derek Fisher felt the wrath of Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman’s comments this week, and now it’s Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr’s turn. Jackson’s former player and Kerr’s former teammate with the Chicago Bulls took ample shots at Jackson’s struggling Knicks. His tone on Kerr was on the lighter side (which happens when your team starts the season 18-2).
Kerr and Rodman won three championships together with the Bulls from 1996-1998. Kerr is in his first year as a head coach with the Warriors after practically taking the Knicks job and reuniting with Phil Jackson. Rodman gave his thoughts on Kerr’s coaching job at a promotional event in New York on Tuesday.
Steve Kerr ain’t coaching [expletive],” he said. “Steve Kerr is having a good time. He ain’t coaching. He’s just having a good time. He’s just sitting there letting those kids shoot. That’s all he’s doing, man. He ain’t doing a damn thing. You know I’m joking, Steve.
Again, when your team is 18-2, there aren’t too many bad things people can find to say about how you’re coaching. Kerr has been seen smiling and laughing on the Warriors sideline in his first 20 games as a head coach. He seems to enjoy his job.
Rodman’s comments on his former teammate sounded exactly as such, like old teammates joking from afar, much unlike his thoughts on his former coach’s team right now.
