Wednesday night Steve Kerr accepted a 5 year $25 million dollar deal to become the Head Coach of The Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr has been one of the hottest names among coaching candidate’s in The NBA in the past couple months. Kerr supposedly was the number one option for The Knicks and he has been linked to The New York Knicks head coaching vacancy since Phil Jackson first accepted his front office role. As soon as Mark Jackson was fired though, Golden State had their sights set on Kerr and they worked quickly. Earlier last week reports came out that Kerr preferred a job on the west coast so he could be closer to his family in San Diego, and Phil Jackson actually tried to up his price by giving Kerr a fourth year onto his deal. The five time NBA champion and one time general manager of The Phoenix Suns is one of the brilliant minds of the NBA. He’s getting a young and talented roster in Golden State. In Phoenix, Kerr was intrigued with the idea of getting Stephen Curry in the draft and now he’s getting the opportunity to coach him in Golden State.
