Brooklyn Nets forward DeMarre Carroll underwent a successful right ankle arthroscopy and has no timetable set for his return, the NBA announced:
Brooklyn Nets forward DeMarre Carroll underwent successful right ankle arthroscopy today. The procedure was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Updates regarding Carroll’s return will be issued as appropriate.
Carroll, 32, is a versatile 6-foot-8 forward. Last season, his first with the Nets, he appeared in 73 games, averaging career-high marks in the following statistical categories: points per game (13.5), rebounds per game (6.6) and assists per game (2.0). He shot 41.4 percent from the floor and 37.1 percent from 3-point range.
Due to the surgery, Carroll missed the Nets’ season opener, a three-point loss to the Detroit Pistons. With him out, the Nets started D’Angelo Russell, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, Jared Dudley and Jarrett Allen. Had Carroll been healthy, he likely would have started over Dudley.
