Cousins, a four-time NBA All-Star, joined the Warriors in a high profile move during the offseason, bolstering the roster of the defending NBA champions. Since joining the Warriors, Cousins has been nursing a torn left Achilles tendon he suffered while a member of the New Orleans Pelicans last season.
Cousins’ impending return to the court was signaled last month when he was assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State’s G League affiliate, in order to aid in the final stages in his recovery.
Prior to sustaining his injury last season, DeMarcus Cousins averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game through 48 games.
