Sacramento Kings star center DeMarcus Cousins recently stated that he hoped to play for the United States’ men’s basketball team in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. His wish will be granted, reports ESPN’s Marc J. Spears:
Kings' DeMarcus Cousins has been told he has earned a roster spot on USA Basketball's 2016 Rio Olympics team, a source told The Undefeated.

Cousins is probably the best center in the NBA, and as such he was already pretty much guaranteed a roster spot if he wanted it. Other centers being considered likely include Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard, and DeAndre Jordan, among others.
Cousins is hands down the league’s top center on the offensive end. His defense is a bit questionable, but he’s such a force on the offensive end that he’s still widely considered the league’s top center.
Having Cousins will be huge for a team USA roster that will be without Stephen Curry, LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, and John Wall.
Paul George, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant all want to participate in the Olympics.
