Over the Labor Day Weekend, Sacramento Kings center and Olympic gold medal winner DeMarcus Cousins will be sponsoring a free basketball camp in Mobile, Alabama.

Cousins follows up his USA Basketball teammate Kyle Lowry, who just hosted a free clinic in Philadelphia this week. In addition to the camp, Cousins will sponsor a panel discussion involving the local law enforcement and community leaders.
More importantly, @boogiecousins is sponsoring a panel discussion featuring the Mobile Police Department and other community leaders on 9-3.

The community panel takes a page from another one of Cousins’ teammates on Team USA, Carmelo Anthony, who helped the “Leadership Together” panel in July in Los Angeles. The panel was assembled to create dialogue between the community and law enforcement in regards to the widespread killings of black men and police officers.
Cousins presents yet another effort by an NBA player to use their resources to encourage dialogue and peace. Many players, not just in the NBA, have been active and outright in their beliefs when it comes to these issues. Cousins is doing his part in looking to mobilize his home community during the holiday weekend.
