Well, that was fast.
Less than two hours after Joey Bada$$ and Loaded Lux teamed up for “My Town,” Ray Vaughn dropped “Golden Eye.” Over production from J. White Did It, the TDE artist questioned Joey Bada$$’s affiliation with Sean “Diddy” Combs and referenced Troy Ave’s diss track aimed at the late Capital Steez. Hours after Ray Vaughn dropped his latest response, Daylyt re-entered the chat with his response to “My Town” — “AYO.” Within the first few bars, Daylyt wastes no time firing at both Joey Bada$$ and Loaded Lux.
“Body Lux in Times Square, go get a Doctor Manhattan/Top, I covered all of my tracks to get the play, right?/Scientific fact, it takes 10,000 lux to equal daylight,” Daylyt rapped.
Daylyt also pokes at Joey Bada$$’s continued calls for Kendrick Lamar to enter the back-and-forth.
“Back to you Joe, all that acting ain’t in the trenches/Don’t be acting cool, Joe/Oh, I mean I [snap for the fences]/Bro done brought in my opp, oh he think I’m gon’ get Kendrick,” he added.
With a stark beat switch, Daylyt ends the track by taking uncomfortable shots at Joey Bada$$ and his fiancee, Serayah.
“Why kick the door? I just ring the doorbell with a smile. Girl, pregnant, open the door. Yeah, it’s been a while. Is Joey here? Yes, he’s in the back, come in! Soon as she turn around, [I’ll] split her in two. I guess you don’t know, homie. I’m a monster, not a thug, homie. You’ll find me on your staircase with your baby and her blood on me,” he continued.
While this is far from Daylyt’s first response, it is the most direct and in-depth regarding Joey’s association with Sean “Diddy” Combs and the first time that he’s alluded to anything involving his fiancee. Furthermore, it’s the first response track in this back-and-forth in which an artist from the West Coast has addressed more than Joey Bada$$.
