On Friday, May 16, 2026, Dawn Richard, an award-winning artist formerly signed to Bad Boy Records, testified against her former label head, Sean “Diddy” Combs at Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in Lower Manhattan. During her testimony, Richard recalled a specific incident in which she says Combs screamed at, kicked, punched and nearly hit fellow former Bad Boy Records signee Cassie Ventura. More specifically, Richard said Combs came downstairs and began shouting, “Where the f—k was his eggs?” As he continued, Richard says Combs began to verbally and physically assault Ventura before putting his arm around Ventura’s neck and dragging her away.
“I was scared for her and scared to do anything,” Richard said. “I had never seen anything like that before.”
One day later, Dawn Richard says Combs warned her and other members of her former group, Danity Kane, not to say anything. Furthermore, Richard recalls Combs saying, “Where he was from, people go missing if they talk.” As Richard explained in court, Combs was threatening “death” if she spoke about what occurred.
Combs is at the center of an ongoing trial in which he has been charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The former media mogul, who has pleaded not guilty, faces life in prison if convicted.
