The Last of Us Executive Producer Craig Mazin has reportedly found a home at HBO for what he believes could be his next hit series, Blackout Room. Working with Nine Days Director Edson Oda, Mazin’s thriller takes place in a future society where everyone’s life is livestreamed to the rest of the world at all times. However, one woman manages to grab everyone’s attention when her son disappears without a trace.
Mazin begins his next project at HBO while taking on a greater role with his current hit series, The Last of Us. Earlier this year, the show’s co-creator and executive producer, Neil Druckmann, stepped away from the show for the foreseeable future to focus his attention on other projects at Naughty Dog. As a result, Mazin was elevated as the show’s sole showrunner.
Mazin is also designated as the executive producer for Damage, a developing HBO series from Materialists Director Celine Song. Written and produced by Song and David Hinojosa, the series is “set in the world of e-sports.”
Lastly, Mazin is credited as a writer for Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie. Directed by Kyle Balda, it is inspired by the 2005 novel Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. Starring Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson, it will be released in theaters on November 13, 2026.
