Dreamville knows no bounds when it comes to talent. Whether it be the timeless work of J. Cole or the limitless potential of J.I.D, the record imprint has successfully highlighted emerging talent and brought it the forefront. Ari Lennox, Lute and Bas are just a few examples of who Ib and company have helped pushed to the next level. While he is often overlooked, California native Cozz has the ability to take Dreamville to new heights.
His standout project, Cozz & Effect, set the stage for the Dreamville signee in 2014. Over time, he’s delivered two new bodies of work along with appearances on every Dreamville compilation. As the year comes to a close, Cozz is here to make his voice heard one more time.
Cozz’s Fortunate EP brings the Dreamville lyricist back to his comfort zone, honesty and bars. With that said, he also pushes himself to sing on “Fortunate.” While it is short, this EP allows listeners to see that Cozz is still as sharp as ever and he’s willing to experiment when the opportunity presents itself.
