Florida Gators senior big man Colin Castleton has suffered a broken hand and could likely miss the rest of the season. The team’s leading scorer on the season suffered the injury in the team’s 79-64 win over the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday night. He left that game early in the second half and did not return. Last offseason the senior announced he would use his extra year of eligibility granted to him because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Without Castleton, the team will lean heavily on senior big man Jason Jitoboh.

This season with the Florida Gators, Colin Castleton is averaging 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and three blocks per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 50 percent and a free throw percentage of 72.9 percent. The big man was playing his way into several SEC honors, but now with the injury, he may not get as many votes. This season with their first year Head Coach Todd Golden, the Gators are solidly on the NCAA Tournament bubble with a few games left to prove their case. That could prove to be difficult without their star big man on the court to close the season.
