Russell Wilson and Ciara have purchased an ownership stake in the Seattle Sounders. The couple joins twenty other investors who make up the MLS team’s ownership.
Ciara announced the business move on Instagram. She wrote, “Russell Wilson and I are fired up to announce we are Team Owners of the Seattle Sounders one of the best soccer franchises in the world!” She added, “We can’t wait for our kids to grow up loving Soccer! Family is everything! Football and Futbol is Family!”
In addition, Seattle rapper Macklemore has also purchased a portion of the soccer franchise. Outside of music, former Pandora CEO Brian McAndrews and former FOX Sports executive David Nathanson have also joined the group of twenty investors.
The couple does not plan on stopping with soccer. As Vibe reports, the duo is interested in bringing a Major League Baseball franchise to Portland. The two have joined the Portland Diamond Project, a group committed to bringing baseball to the state of Oregon.
Outside of sports, Russell and Ciara have launched their own production company. Going forward, the sky is the limit for the Wilson family.
