In the life of Ciara, a lot can happen within six years. She could have two kids, buy a minority stake of an MLS team, and head from Denver to Pittsburgh and now New York with her husband, Russell Wilson. Now, she’s ready to talk about all of that and more through her new album, CiCi.
Fresh off touring with Missy Elliott and appearing on JID’s God Does Like Ugly, Ciara has recruited a blend of artists across generations for her seventh studio LP, including Busta Rhymes, Latto, Jazze Pha, BossMan DLow, Chris Brown, Tyga, and more. Ciara brings it all together for an album she says is a “love letter” to her fans.
“This album right here is my love letter. A celebration of the journey—and more importantly, a thank you to you, my Day 1s and Day 21s,” she wrote. “You’ve stuck by me through every era, every evolution, and every independent leap of faith. Let’s be real—being independent isn’t for the faint of heart, but y’all? Y’all gave me the courage to keep pushing, to keep dreaming, and to keep dancing like nobody’s watching (even though millions of you are, lol).”
Ciara’s Cici adds to a string of releases from Atlanta-based artists, including JID’s God Does Like Ugly, 2 Chainz’s Red Clay, Young Nudy’s Paradise, Offset’s Kiari, and Mariah The Scientist’s Hearts Sold Separately. Check out Ciara’s Cici below.
