Chris Paul is in health and safety protocols and will be out indefinitely ahead of the Western Conference Finals. The Phoenix Suns just swept the Denver Nuggets to secure their spot in the Conference Finals. Currently, the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers are battling it out to take on the Suns in the next round.
Paul was recently named to Second Team All-NBA and has helped lead the Suns to where they are currently. Many thought he should have been in consideration for MVP this season. Now, he may miss Game 1 of the Conference Finals. It is unclear why Paul is in the protocol, and it is worth noting that LeBron James avoided missing any time earlier in the postseason after violating protocols.

The Jazz/Clippers series is tied 2-2 and the Suns may have an extended resting period. Depending on the medical status of Paul, whether he is vaccinated or not, will help determine the length of his absence. The Suns will need him if they want to make the NBA Finals.
