Oklahoma City Thunder Point Guard Chris Paul has shared that he is actively working to create a program that would provide transportation to voting locations for voters at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
“We are providing transportation to HBCU students to get the polls so we are working on that now,” he said.
The 10-time NBA All-Star guard did not share the names of the universities that would be involved in the program. However, he did share that he is now taking classes at a Historically Black University, Winston-Salem State. Both of Paul’s parents attend the school, which is nearby his alma mater, Wake Forest University.
The move is not a surprise to many. Throughout his time in the NBA bubble, Paul took time to celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He was often spotted wearing Morehouse College and Howard University apparel.
