Chris Paul recently received criticism for calling out the officiating of NBA referee,Lauren Holtkamp, who is a first year NBA referee and happens to be a woman. To quote Chris Paul:
“Some of [the technical fouls] were ridiculous,” Paul said. “The tech that I get right there was ridiculous. I don’t care what nobody says, I don’t care what she says; that’s terrible. There’s no way that can be a tech. We try to get the ball out fast every time down the court, and when we did that, she said, ‘Uh-uh.’ I said, ‘Why, uh-uh?’ And she gave me a tech.
“That’s ridiculous. If that’s the case, this might not be for her.”
That last part “this might not be for her” put a bad taste in the mouth of a lot of people. Now, the NBA has fined Chris Paul $25,000 for the criticism of the officiating.
The Los Angeles Clippers have lost 4 of their last 5 games and 3 in a row, which gives Chris Paul a reason to be angry at himself and his teammates. This Los Angeles Clippers team is NOT the same Clippers team we saw last year, and they don’t seem to be clicking at all, something is wrong there.
