Chris Bosh might not have a future with the Miami Heat. He accepts that and team president Pat Riley has made it known that Bosh’s tenure with the squad is just about over. Yet Chris won’t accept that as the end of his time in the NBA.
Bosh reacted to the news just about how you expect he would. Hurt and confused, Bosh opened up about Riley and the Miami Heat. He didn’t hold back voicing his opinion on the team he’s spent the last six years with. He’s received support from former teammates and fans all over and he appreciates it. What does confuse him are the people who tell him to stop trying to play in the NBA.
Chris is adamant in wanting to return to the NBA. He knows it won’t be with Miami but he vows it will be somewhere in the NBA. The Heat can apply for complete salary-cap relief from Bosh’s contract after Feb. 9, the one-year anniversary of Bosh’s last appearance in a game. Bosh will continue to be paid the remaining $76 million due over the final three years of his contract regardless of the outcome of that petition by the Heat. But regardless of what happens come February, he says he doesn’t care about the money. He just wants to play.
The two-time NBA champion vows that his career will continue because he says he is not a quitter.
Chris Bosh said the following in episode five of his ‘Uninterrupted’ video series entitled ‘Finale | Dreams’. Here are some of the notable quotes.

When we first started this whole process, with the filming of this, I had total confidence that it was going just to be routine, and I would get my checkup and I’ll do my physical and then we’ll just keep going and I’ll be in camp.
But unfortunately, I guess with the news I found out [Sept. 26], it won’t be in Miami. I’m just trying to kind of just really weather this storm, whatever this storm is, and really just figure things out. I’m just as confused as anybody else. You know, I’ve been playing basketball my whole life and I feel I have so much more to give.
We’re going to go everywhere. We’re going to do everything that it takes to get back out there.
I’m going to try to play basketball. That’s just what I’ve been placed here to do. I’ve said you always have to fight for the things you really want to do and the thing that you love. So when does that stop?
What I would say to people who just see the money and then kind of see my situation and say, “Hey, just walk away.” I get it. I totally get. I understand it. I hear you.
But I’m not really thinking about money. I’m just thinking about where my heart is. It’s just about I love the NBA. I love playing basketball every day for a living.
I want my children to know that daddy was a fighter and he just didn’t give up very easily.
So, yeah, I hear you. It’s right there. And that’s kind of been the part that makes me confused is because it’s just right there. All I have to do is walk way. Think about that more so. All I have to do is just leave. You’ll never hear from me again. I’ll probably just do other things, and I’ll be fine. And that makes it confusing, because my heart – I know where my heart is. And I just would feel like I’m giving up if I just walked away, just easily like that.
And if people can’t understand that, you don’t understand being a winner. People sometimes tell you that dreams are impossible. It’s either you follow your dreams and continue to go, or you do not — I just choose to follow my dreams.
