After speculations all summer about what was going on with his health, Chris Bosh finally declares that he is ‘ready to play’. After being sidelined 2 years in a row with blood clot problems, it was uncertain whether or not Bosh would even return to the basketball court again. There had been multiple reports throughout the summer that there were disagreements between the Heat organization and Bosh’s camp, who think Bosh can play. While they may have their differences, Bosh could push them to let him play, and the NBA has now even considered intervening in the situation.
With all that being said, Bosh still believes he is ready to play. He played under 100 games over the past 2 seasons for the Heat, and for them to have any chance at contending in the East, Bosh will have to be worth his big contract. In an interview with Uninterrupted, Bosh told the world, he’s ready. Per Ethan Skolnick of CBS Sports:
“Absolutely,” Bosh said. “I mean, I’m ready to play. We’ve been talking about it for a long time. We released a statement back in May, saying, as soon as I’m ready to play, as soon as possible, we’ll play. And I’m ready. I’ve done all my work. I’ve done what I needed to do, working with the doctors. I’m in incredible shape, at least decent enough. You know, I look good when I take my shirt off.”
“But in all due seriousness, especially with (Heat owner) Micky Arison saying, ‘Hey, see you at camp,'” he added. “So I think it’s moving forward. I have no reason to believe that it’s not. And you know, we’ll finish this.”
Whether or not Bosh is allowed to play will be a big part of the Heat’s problems come the start of the season. With training camp in the Bahamas set to start soon and a team without Dwyane Wade, the Heat will need their leader, Chris Bosh.
