The Chip Kelly show has officially ended in Philadelphia!
After a dreadful 6-9 season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Chip Kelly has been dismissed as the Eagles head coach. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmer will coach the Eagles finale in week 17.

Part of the reason for Kelly’s firing may have to do with some of his personnel decisions that were made over this past offseason. After demanding gm duties during the offseason, Kelly failed miserably not having the wherewithal to find players that successful fit his scheme.
Ed Marynowitz – Chip’s personnel guy – also was fired.

The decision to fire Chip’s personnel guy should come as little surprise regarding the offseason moves. The overall play of Byron Maxwell, Sam Bradford, and DeMarco Murray wrap up what has been a very disappointing season in Philly. Kelly will finish his Eagles tenure with an overall record of 26-21.
Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie released a statement regarding the news on Kelly:
“We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward.”
“I have made a decision to release Chip Kelly this evening, “I spent the last three seasons evaluating the many factors involved in our performance as a team. As I watched this season unfold, I determined that it was time to make a change.”
