“Redbone” is Gambino’s best-selling single thus far.
“Redbone”, a hit single by Childish Gambino has been certified double platinum by the RIAA. The single, which was certified platinum in May, is Gambino’s first double platinum. “Heartbeat” and “3005”, both singles of his, have went platinum as well in previous years.
“Awaken, My Love!” released in December and was certified gold earlier this month. While the album has done well for Donald Glover, the single has become mainstream. The hit song was all over social media for months. While being featured in Jordan Peele’s blockbuster “Get Out”, Twitter also meme it.
While Gambino can add this accolade to his collection, the singer could be giving up on music soon. Recently during his performance at Governor’s Ball, he hinted his farewell to music.
