Showtime is at it again with the promising original content! The first trailer for their new coming of age drama ‘The Chi’ has dropped. The show chronicles what it’s like to grow up in Chicago’s South Side without sensationalizing the experience. The show seemingly gives a hyper-accurate portrayal, filled with a wide variety of characters you’d interact with on a daily basis. Long form coming of age stories are surprisingly rare but after the smash success of ‘Stranger Things’, it’s nice to see that networks are taking a chance on them regardless of the subject matter. ‘The Chi’ has an all-star cast as well featuring the likes of Jason Mitchell (Straight Out Of Compton, Kong: Skull Island), Sonja Sohn (The Wire) and Common. The show is set to debut early next year on Showtime.
