The Boston Celtics have a plethora of riches when it comes to their young talent. Headlined by guys under 25 years old like Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Avery Bradley, and Kelly Olynyk, their roster breeds a ton of hope for the future.
While having youth is good, it could also be a horrible problem very soon. They have a limited number of roster spots and some tough decisions to make. Earlier today, they waived 2016 second round pick Ben Bentil and they’re also looking to get something back in a trade for either R.J. Hunter or James Young.

And Shams Charania also of The Vertical reported that Ben Bentil was waived.

You’d be hard pressed to imagine a team giving up a pick for either one of these guys unless they really want one of the players. James Young seems like the most likely target to be waived after a long history of underwhelming performances. But he has played well in the preseason.
Either way, the clock is ticking for the Celtics and someone’s NBA dream may be put on hold pretty soon.
