Following his release by the Cavaliers, McCaw has agreed to a one-year, $786K deal with the Toronto Raptors, prior to which the Golden State Warriors, McCaw’s former team, prompted an investigation into the circumstances of McCaw’s short tenure in Cleveland.
Had the Cavaliers been implicated in wrongdoing during the course of the investigation, they may have been forced to forfeit future draft picks, which would have dealt a devastating blow to a Cavs team which currently is at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, holding a record of 9-35.
In McCaw’s three-game stint with the Cavaliers, he averaged just 1.7 points per game on over 17 minutes of game-time and will look to improve his average when he makes his debut for the Raptors.
