Cleveland’s underwhelming bench played a key role in their eventual collapse against Golden State this past postseason. They managed to trade for Deron Williams during the season, but his 2-for-16 shooting outing in the Finals likely spelled the end of his short Cavs tenure.
Calderon, 35, provides respectable shooting from 3-point range and another veteran voice for the locker room. He was signed (and subsequently waived) by the Golden State Warriors once Kevin Durant when down to injury this past season.
Calderon’s played for six teams across his 12-year career, holding career-averages of 9.6 points and 6.2 assists.
