In a time where the world is experiencing a pandemic that is impacting the lives of millions, Cash Money Records finds themselves stepping up and giving back.
Using their resources, the iconic record label, founded by Slim Williams and Birdman, it has reportedly covered the June rent for New Orleans households. Making a $225,000 to the Forward Together New Orleans non-profit organization, Birdman and Slim have made it an effort to give back to the same communities they came from.
Per a statement to Variety:
There’s nothing more important to us than giving back to the brothers and sisters who live on those same streets we grew up on – from musicians to service workers to everyday working families.
No stranger to giving back, Birdman’s 23 Annual Turkey Giveaway, which took place in November 2019, is just one of many examples for the star. Always pleasant news to see and hear, surely Cash Money Records’ efforts will be greatly appreciated for New Orleans locals.
