Former Nebraska Cornhuskers red shirt junior quarterback Casey Thompson has announced that he has transferred to the FAU Owls. Thompson began his career with the Texas Longhorns before playing with Nebraska last season. Multiple time transfers have become much more common in college football. The former power five starting quarterback will now head to South Florida to play football. FAU is currently coached by former Texas Longhorns Head Coach Tom Herman. The Owls will be looking to make and win a good bowl game this season with Thompson under center.

This past season as a junior for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Casey Thompson completed 173 passes for 2,407 yards, 17 touchdowns, and ten interceptions on 274 attempts. He also rushed for five touchdowns as a member of the Cornhuskers. While his tenure with the program was short, he did keep the team competitive during a rough season. Talent wise he could be argued as one f the best players to ever suit up for the FAU Owls next season. With the right kind of season he could put the program on the map during the 2023-24 college football season. It will take plenty of other factors, but the match could be ideal.
