After just 10 games played, Carmelo Anthony is parting ways with the Houston Rockets is over, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski:
Carmelo Anthony’s brief stop with the Houston Rockets is over, league sources tell ESPN. Anthony will part ways with team, although there are no immediate plans to place 10-time All-Star on waivers. Team announcement is expected before Rockets play Golden State tonight.

While he won’t play, Anthony will remain on the Rockets’ roster for now, according to Wojnarowski:
For now, Anthony will remain on the Rockets roster, but will not rejoin the team, sources said. Anthony’s wisest course of action could be exercising patience and allowing changes in league rosters – through trades, injuries, team needs — to create more playing options for him. https://t.co/L5aC5Ueah0

Anthony started in two of his 10 matchups for Mike D’Antoni’s club. He averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from 3-point range.
The Rockets have struggled this season, which is definitely not entirely the fault of Anthony. The team is 6-7, which has them at 12th in the Western Conference. That sub-.500 record is a massive disappointment given that the team won 65 games and was first in the West last season.
