Carmelo Anthony loves New York. He has made it apparent on more than one occasion and he’s also made it known he would not be requesting a trade from the Knicks this season. While he spends the glory years of his career in the city that never sleeps, Melo knows how much this city can chew you up and spit you out with no remorse. Vice Sports follows him around once again, last time he was in Puerto Rico enjoying the beautiful island and talking about his future projects and now we get a behind-the-scenes look at Melo as he talks about the city, where he came from and how important his roots are to him.
Melo knows what the city can do to you, how the people can love you one minute and hate you the next and how much pressure he has on him but as a New Yorker at heart, he knows how everyone feels once they roll out of bed in the morning.

New York is the greatest city on the planet, I think. But you’re not a New Yorker if you don’t wake up some days and be like, “Man, f— this place.
You know what I mean? I don’t care who you are. You can be the mayor. You can be the governor all the way down to the mailman. Everybody wakes up some days and is like, “Man, f— New York.”
Melo appears to be all about New York and as the season gets underway soon, this might be just what Knicks fans want to see.
(P.S. be sure to catch Iman Shumpert’s subtle jab at Phil Jackson.)
