Former President Donald Trump may be the overwhelming favorite to secure the Republican Party’s nomination for President in the upcoming election, but he will not participate in the party’s upcoming debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Instead, he has reportedly made plans to sit with former Fox News Host Tucker Carlson for an interview. Details regarding the focus of the interview remain unclear, but multiple reports suggest the interview will be released on Twitter during the Republican Party’s debate in Milwaukee.
“Sparks will fly,” Trump wrote.
Trump’s interview will arrive hours before he is set to turn himself into authorities in Fulton County, Georgia. The former reality show host, along with 18 others, has been charged with attempting to overturn the most recent presidential election. Fulton County Fani Willis aims to charge all 19 defendants together within the next six months. However, legal experts question if that is possible.
“It actually seems impossible that it could go to trial in 2026. I’m not being glib here. When you look at the other current, high-profile racketeering case that is pending in the same county, [it] has been in jury selection for eight months. If the name of that trial isn’t at the tip of your tongue, then that’s evidence. As high-profile as that trial is, they can’t seat a jury,” attorney Dan Cevallos said.
Trump is also facing election interference charges in Washington, D.C. and he is the focus of a civil trial in New York that is expected to begin in January. In each high-profile trial, the former reality show host has pleaded not guilty.
