Though the Brooklyn Nets made some of the splashiest moves in free agency by going out and landing the trio of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan in free agency, they’re still managing to take care of their in-house players. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million extension with guard Caris LeVert. LeVert was still playing on his rookie deal after he was selected with the 20th overall pick in 2016.

Now Caris LeVert gets his first major payday in the NBA, and don’t expect it to be his last either. At just 25 years old, LeVert has already proven to be a dynamic guard option on or off the ball and has thrived in Brooklyn the last couple seasons.
Though LeVert missed more than half of last season’s games after a gruesome leg injury, he still put up the best per-game stats of his young career and was one of the Nets’ best players when on the court. LeVert may be asked to shoulder even more of the load now with Kyrie Irving aboard and Kevin Durant likely out for all of next season.
